So with the new higher emission standards at both the US and Europe are now enforcing, the luxury companies are having a time to figure out how to find their niche in this market as well. Out of the gate, they are trying the luxury small edition… and by small, I am talking Smart car small!

Now, I am not sure that we will ever see James Bond saving the world in this mini Aston Martin but if he did, he would at least be saving part of the world while he did it. And though the outside of this luxury car may be shrink, the company promises that none of the interior luxury items will be cheapened.

McLaren has just announced that they are creating a new car brand when they bring in their new money. A funder that has not been released as bought 48 percent of the company and with it, they feel like they can open up a new brand called (not very creatively) McLaren Automotive.

Their first car will be as per the usual, a Supercar, but after that they may branch out a little. They have been firm in saying that they will only make sports cars but there is a lot of room to wiggle around in that genre. I look forward to this.

Porsche has decided to change a lot of the problems that the old Cayenne had so that they could be a viable option when people bought a luxury SUV.   People complained that they were too heavy, they changed that.   People said that they were too big of gas guzzlers, now we have the 2nd best hybrid out there.

So let’s see how this 2011 Cayenne really performs.   I have hopes, I love Porsche as a brand and as a car.   So to see success in other types of cars would be pretty sweet.

It is nice to see a new american luxury car company start up again it gives me hope.   The last time one that I remember is DeLorean, which sadly went out of business in 1982.   Tesla is fighting an uphill to cut into the sports car market that some companies are been in for 50 years.

The reviews of their roadster is quite good.  It is sporty and quick and it handles well in the corners.   It has received grants from the U.S. Dept of Energy for its electric roadster.   So if you are looking for a new sports car that is both fun and eco-friendly, here it is.

Most likely the hybrid will be based off of the Ferrari 599 that was unveiled in 2006.  How they are going to achieve their goal of a supercar hybrid is still yet to be determined but if one car can pull it off, my money is on Ferrari.

I don’t know how they do it but Mercedes-Benz is always ahead of the curve on car advancements and this year model does not disappoint.   I don’t even know where they come up with these things, but once I hear of them, it makes complete sense to have that technology on a vehicle.

This year’s model has a drowsiness sensor that help keep the driver awake.   It has a radar system that both senses cars in the blind spot but also prepares the car if it is close to any other car.    The Sat Nav shows a movie to everyone else but the driver.   Oh and my personal favorite, it has a sensor that tells when another car is approaching, and dims the lights so to not obstruct the vision of the other driver.   Well done, Mercedes, Well done!

Audi, under the direction from VW, has announced that it will add 8 new luxury cars to its line and will become the world’s largest luxury car maker. I am pretty excited for this.

Audi seems to have a good idea of how a luxury car should be. I would say that the R8 is the most enjoyable luxury sports car, I have ever been in and that is saying a lot

The price tag for this beautiful car starts at 79 which isn’t bad. Also, for the eco-friendly bunch, there is no cleaner tailpipe on a supercar. But with all this it is goes 0 – 60 in 3.3 seconds, now that is fast!

For the last 3 years, the Cadillac CTS and been one of Car and Driver’s top cars of the year awards and it deserves every bit of it. This car is truly amazing in my opinion. It mixes the the sports car feel with the comfortability of a true luxury car.

If you get the CTS-V version, which is their high performance model, you are pushing over 550 horsepower. This car is so well made, it made it around the Nurburgring track in 7:59 which is the same as the Dodge Viper and Porsche 911 Carrera.

Though it can race alongside Supercars though, you are completely comfortable while instead with everything you would expect inside a Cadillac! I am in love!!!
